Hi, all! Some of you win NaNoWriMo every year, and some of you probably don’t even know what the heck those odd sound combinations even mean. I was recently introduced to NaNoWriMo and decided to participate, which is going to be the biggest thing I have committed to all year (If I actually put my all into it, which I really, really need to do, for my own sanity.)
So, for those of you who don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, it stands for National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write 50,000 words, or a whole novel, or however much you can write in a month, for the whole month of November. Here’s a picture of my NaNoWriMo Profile if you want to be buddies! Since this is my first time on the site I’m not really sure what that exactly entails but I think we help motivate each other during this stressful but fulfilling time of writing till we drop.
The big house and white picket fence-type dream for me is to be an author, it’s what I want most in the world and yet I haven’t been applying myself. I think it comes down to being a perfectionist with a fear of failure, I can’t even start until I know for a fact it will be amazing. There’s only one problem with that thought process, how will I become an amazing writer if I never WRITE? Yeah, my brain works in weird ways.
Are any of you writers and if so, what do you do to help get through writer’s block? Or a writing slump? Or those days where you feel like every sentence you put together makes no sense and you’ll never be good enough to write whole novels? All advice and wisdom is appreciated.

I know it’s already started, but I wish you the best of luck with your novel and hope you’re able to get this novel out of your head and down on paper!
